Nuclear energy is possibly the most abused, misused, and misunderstood scientific discovery in history. The splitting of an atom (fission) or the jamming together of atoms (fusion) unlock ancient, highly condensed clean power.
If we simply set aside our prejudices and fears about nuclear energy, open our minds, listen, and look objectively at what we know about this technology, we'll come to see we have the power to save the world right in front of us. Right now. Join us. Let's start a chain reaction.
The Atomic Garage sits at the intersection of reality and fiction, advocating for real-world nuclear energy while offering a fictional immersion into a near-future where highly advanced nuclear reactors are being deployed at scale.

Our slogan: Hot Reactors & Cold Beer came out of our novel, Chain Reaction. It has a nice ring to it, so we decided to make it our real-life slogan. We’ve turned it into great merchandise, but we don’t advocate mixing nuclear reactors with drinking!

From 2016 to 2022, we focused on preventing U.S. nuclear plant closures, diving deep into the history and technology of nuclear energy. We attended NRC public meetings, traveled across the United States and Europe for nuclear conferences, and connected with pro- and anti-nuclear communities. These experiences and friendships enriched our storytelling, blending real-world insights with fictional narratives.
We published a free Quick Read Nuclear Energy Guide, answering 21 original questions about nuclear technology. The guide is available for free on our website. We published a free Quick Read Nuclear Energy Guide, answering 21 original questions about nuclear technology. The guide is available for free on our website. Our first novel, Chain Reaction, a techno-thriller, introduces Amy Austin navigating a world where nuclear tech leaps forward 30 years. The story features reality-based innovations like the Thorium 10MWe Walking Leaf reactor—a lightweight, affordable design that runs for 25 years—and a fictional alloy, akin to alloys under development Sartorium. We’re working on the sequel, A Continent of Light, right now. These fast-paced stories deliver “edutainment,” teaching about nuclear energy through vivid characters, immersive locations, and geopolitical intrigue.
Since 2016, nuclear energy has shifted from decline to a global renaissance, with hundreds of projects underway, including many in places like our fictional Atomic Garage. The Atomic Garage capitalizes on this momentum, incorporating nuclear stories into popular culture to increase appreciation and sustainability of the technology.
So, pull up a seat, grab a cold beer, and join us to explore how a small group built an advanced reactor that changed the world forever.
Non-artists members can continue a relationship with the fictional characters in our stories as their lives continue within the AGM website between books, theatrical releases, and other events. Members can also weigh in on future plots. . . character biographies. . . book cover concepts. . . music jingle preferences. . . vote on best blurbs, posters, and concepts. . . and have a say in how the creative world weaves nuclear energy’s story into the popular culture.
AGM partners with other nuclear energy advocate NGOs for those that want to be on the front lines of advocacy.
We’ll also conduct creative competitions and contests with other partners in the nuclear energy community to seek out talent and ideas. In some cases, we’ll bring the finished products to the public through the AGM publishing platform, or we’ll work with other organizations in the world of arts and entertainment.
Coming soon: Our website will serve as an extension of our fictional stories. It is here where our characters live and work. You will be able to keep up with their work or build a friendship with them between stories.
